REPORTING & CONSOLIDATION SPECIALIST

Balta is the largest producer of textile floor coverings in Europe with a consolidated net turnover of 668 million Euros (PF 2016). Our accounting and consolidation department has an important role in the preparation of all external and public financial reporting. The accounting and consolidation department is primarily responsible for all consolidated financial reporting, statutory and tax reporting, the financial closing and integration processes and is the main contact for the external audit. The department is working centrally and closely works together with corporate controlling and corporate finance to further optimize and enhance the different reporting processes for all (financial) stakeholders.

 

Following the acquisition of Bentley, one of the leading providers of premium carpet tile and broadloom carpet in the United States, in March 2017 and the IPO of Balta Group in June 2017, we are seeking to strengthen and expand our accounting and consolidation team with a Corporate Reporting and Consolidation Specialist reporting to the Accounting and Consolidation Manager.

 

Function

As reporting & consolidation specialist, you will be assigned the following key responsibilities:

  • Organization and coordination of the monthly closing activities and consolidation process to ensure the internal and external reporting deadlines
  • Ensure the quarterly, half yearly and yearly consolidated IFRS reports meet the highest standards, are in full compliance with IFRS and ESMA regulations and are prepared and issued within the agreed timeframe.
  • Follow up on existing, new and amended standards and regulations and identify the possible impact for the group (IFRS, US Gaap, Local Gaap, Tax, …). Translate and implement the standards in a practical way.
  • You take full ownership to review the different reporting packages received from our foreign entities and you ensure compliance with our group standards and confirm the figures are free of any material mistakes.
  • You review the annual reports of all legal entities and ensure full compliance with local legislation.
  • You monitor established group policies and procedures.
  • You drive and lead continuous improvement to optimize and simplify the internal closing and reporting processes.
  • Analytical interpretation of financial data and insightful variance analysis presented in an executive summary
  • You help setting up monitoring internal control activities in a practical way.
  • You are able to integrate new companies following a merger or acquisition.

You will engage and collaborate with other teams around the world on a wide variety of ad hoc projects

 

Profile

  • Master Degree in accounting or finance with 5+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of consolidation and IFRS. US Gaap knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to understand the bigger picture and identify Gaap differences and monitor related tax effects
  • Good at formulating clear findings and recommendations
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in hands-on management capacity
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and eager to drive change
